Schools Fest
Our annual Schools Fest takes place each Spring in partnership with the Queen’s Hall in Hexham. Pupils from local schools come together to meet authors and discover the story behind their favourite books.
In 2025, we welcomed over 1500 pupils aged 3 – 16 to our events, which included workshops, author talks and storytelling and craft sessions. Authors visiting in 2025 included Debi Gliori, Sophy Henn, Moira Buffini, Zohra Nabi and The Brother’s McLeod.
Giving young readers and budding writers the chance to meet authors ignites inspiration and enthusiasm, and can encourage the enjoyment of reading and writing for pleasure.
