Books & Art
Books & Art is delivered in partnership with Northumberland Libraries. During the Easter and Summer holidays, our creative facilitator visits libraries across Northumberland to deliver storytelling and craft sessions to young people.
Sessions are free to attend and take place in the heart of each library, bringing people into the building and allowing young people to spend quality time in the environment.
Books are selected in advance with a variety of activities inspired by the story to keep young visitors entertained and enthused about reading.
Our Spring book choice this year was A Hotel For Bugs by Suzi Senoir and Leire Martin, inspired by our focus on climate change and environmental awareness.

I feel incredibly lucky to have this festival on my doorstep. It is world class.
Hexham Book festival is a leading creative force in the Northumbrian cultural landscape, with a positive impact on the lives of so many. Locally based, outward-facing, brilliantly organised, and recognised by writers and readers as one of the attractive and dynamic literary festivals.
