(YRS 5/6/7 ) Like a Curse – Elle McNicoll

Like a Curse

We are terribly sorry but Elle has withdrawn from the Festival due to health reasons.

Edinburgh is a city filled with magical creatures. No one can see them – except Ramya Knox. Can she save Edinburgh from the deadly grip of the Sirens?

Join bestselling, multi-award-winning Scottish children’s author, Elle McNicoll, as she takes us into the world of her captivating fantasy duology, Like a Charm and the highly anticipated sequel, Like a Curse, introducing us to mythical creatures along the way. Don’t miss this spellbinding, inspiring event!

About Elle

Elle McNicoll’s debut novel, A Kind of Spark, won the Blue Peter Book Award and the Waterstones Children’s Book Prize. The TV adaptation will be released by BBC Children’s in Spring 2023.

She is an advocate for better representation of neurodiversity in publishing and in 2022 founded The Adrien Prize, to recognise children’s fiction that explores the disability experience. She currently lives in London.

“McNicoll’s imagination fizzes over and her dyspraxic lead character is groundbreaking in fiction for this age group.”
