RLF Event: For Crime and Country with David Mark & Saima Mir
A special discussion based on the podcast series Collected from the Royal Literary Fund.
What is it that attracts crime writers to conjure up a specific place in their writing? From the shadows of the iconic Wool Exchange in Saima Mir’s Bradford to the once-bustling pubs in Hull’s old town frequented by David Mark’s DI McAvoy, how can contemporary crime fiction both shine a light on the struggles facing England’s Northern towns and celebrate the undercelebrated?
