Silvester is the great puppet master who decides to create one last puppet from the fragments on his work bench. A strange funny awkward boy comes to life between his hands, and leads Silvester into a series of wondrous encounters and adventures. It’s a story about creativity, the joys of childhood and old age.
David is an inspirational speaker who touches the hearts and the imaginations of people of all ages. He’ll leave you hungering to make a puppet of your own.
Come along with an open mind, ask lots of questions and discover the puppets that wait to be discovered within us all.

- Babies under 1 go FREE (must have a ticket). Under 12’s to be accompanied by an adult. Concession rates apply to under 16’s only.
- Hearing loops are available for Theatre events. Carers qualify for free ‘essential companion’ tickets. Wheelchair spaces are limited. In all cases, please call the Box Office on 01434 652477 to book or email: boxoffice@queenshall.co.uk.
- Tickets cannot be refunded but can be exchanged for other Book Festival events.
- From Tuesday 13 May 2025, all bookings for Queen’s Hall events will be subject to a £1.50 booking fee. This fee is charged per order, not per ticket. Whether you book one ticket or five tickets for multiple events, the fee remains £1.50 per booking. The booking fee will apply regardless of whether you book online or in person at our Box Office. Exempt events include free events.
