The Book Festival’s choice of film is this future-nightmare thriller, directed by Alfonso Cuarón and adapted from the fabulous 1992 novel by PD James. It is a stunningly convincing realisation of a Beirut-ised London in the year 2027, in which terrorist bombs have become dreary and commonplace, Clive Owen and Julianne Moore excel.
