Tom Moorhouse – Ghosts in the Hedgerow

Hedgehogs are unquestionably Britain’s favourite mammal, yet their numbers are falling rapidly.

The total hedgehog population is estimated to have halved in less than twenty years and now less than one million animals remain. In an attempt to find out who – or what – is responsible for the steep decline, conservationist Tom Moorhouse has examined the evidence closely and uncovered a story full of twists, turns and uncomfortable truths about the trade-offs that exist between humans and wildlife. But he can also see a solution, a way for all of us to help save the hedgehog.
