The Gillian Dickinson Young People's Festival

Hexham Book Festival is looking to appoint a part time freelance programmer for a children’s festival to run alongside the annual festival, which takes place annually in late April / early May.

About the role:

The successful candidate will work alongside the Festival team and be responsible for the programming, marketing and delivery of the Young People’s Festival additional venue of a Spiegeltent on the Sele Park, Hexham. The role will also include liaising with schools, young people's groups, production of the printed programme, plus management of audience interface and volunteers, liaising with the PR team and other Festival supporters.

The ideal candidate will have some experience of festivals and a keen interest in children’s events and literature, as well as a passion for the arts and festival management in particular.  This job offers an opportunity for development and training for a would-be programmer for the future. Subject to funding, this job could become a permanent part-time job within the HBF team.

Probation period: 3 months, till mid-December 2019

This is a freelance role and the successful candidate will need to invoice monthly and be responsible for their own tax and NI.
