Simon Armitage

This event has now sold out – please contact the Box Office to join the waiting list.

Poet Laureate Simon Armitage’s numerous awards include the Queen’s Gold Medal for Poetry and an Ivor Novello for song writing.

His latest book, Never Good With Horses: Assembled Lyrics is the first-ever collection of Armitage’s lyric output, drawn from what he identities as ‘a twilight zone’ where poetry and song converge. Drawing on work with various musical collaborators, including DIY indie band The Scaremongers and ‘ambient post-rock’ band Land Yacht Regatta, the collection celebrates his ear for the music of language, harnessed for the page.
