Hexham Book Festival 2012
23rd April to 3rd May

Supported by the Queen's Hall Arts

Welcome to the seventh Hexham Book Festival, still going strong thanks to generous funding from the Gillian Dickinson Trust and your vital support. We're back this year with one of the most vibrant festivals around; we’re celebrating the brightest and best of new fiction; a rich mix of gardening, food, and travel writers; trenchant views on art, politics and philosophy with Brian Sewell, Polly Toynbee and AC Grayling; the importance of truculence from seasoned politician Tam Dalyell and swashbuckling words from former poet laureate Andrew Motion.

So come and be inspired by books, authors, workshops and readings all on your doorstep.

New for 2012, we’re extending our countywide reach with Words Across Northumberland, just click here for more information.

Saturday 28th April In the Park

Across the road from the Queen’s Hall in the Sele Park, come and enjoy a selection of stalls; the region’s independent publishers alongside food and crafts and, new for this year, our very own Book Shed.

The Book Shed

What to read next? Do you find yourself always reading the same genre? Know what you like but need to try some new authors? Come along and get (free) advice from our dedicated team in the Book Shed and browse a selection of books enjoyed by New Writing North book groups over the past few years. The Book shed will be open for business from 10am till 3pm on Saturday 28th April.
