Poets take on poets in word to word combat. Fancy your chances? You’ll need at least three poems under three minutes long. Email the festival in advance, some places may be available on the night. Compered by Radio 4's Saturday Live Poet in Residence, the comic poet Kate Fox.

The slam will feature a special preview of Monkfish Productions darkly comic and ground breaking show The Dead That Never Lived. For just a few brief moments the slam café will transform into a funeral chapel, where we will lament the passing of some favourite fictional characters. We will also be welcoming YOUR eulogies for your own favourite character in the run up to The Late Shows in May. For more information go to www.monkfishproductions.org
